hooked the string on the part where it controls the butterfly valve and ran it outside to my driver window and gently pulled on it to get going and then used my cruise control to speed up and slow down

Actulay I can't take credit as it was dave who has mentioned this trick too me a week earlyer as he was in the same situation.... the worst part is befor it snaped the cable freyed a bit and stuck in the open postion and my car just red lined in the middle of downtown at 2 am ... very embarasing !

yeah that's a good weight reduction as well... Awsome, Drive by string lol I did that but I took my steering wheel off... and my wiper motor let go so I used string going out both windows...
