2003 BMW 540i 6-spd black on black

Vehicle Details:
6-spd manual
1-owner lease return - have all records
Black sapphire exterior
Black leather interior
Wood trim
BMW style 32 rims staggered: 17x8 front and 17x9 rear
Purchased in Feb 2007 with 112,000 kms
Now has 180,000 kms (I commute 192 kms a day round trip for work - of which 184 kms is highway)
Wheel locks
Rain sensing windshield
Power windows with all auto up/down
Power sunroof/moonroof with auto open/close slide/tilt
Auto-levelling HID headlights
Foglights
Auto climate control with dual zone
Cruise control
4-wheel ABS
Power tilt/telescoping steering wheel
... too many other standard options to list

BMW factory options/upgrades:
Factory sport package:
- Sport suspension
sport springs, sport shocks/struts
This is the M suspension II which only came on the 2003 540i Sport (see note below about "Sport Packages")
- High gloss shadowline trim
- Black roofliner
This also only came on the 2003 540i Sport
16-way power adjustable comfort seats (driver and passenger)
BMW DSP audio w/ BMW business CD
BMW 6-CD changer
Heated seats
Heated leather wrapped steering wheel
Heated mirrors
Heated washer nozzles
60/40 split rear with ski bag

Other options/upgrades:
Dinan exhaust
Dinan rear swaybar

Additional Details:
The car has been to the dealer for all its scheduled maintenance before the indicated schedules. Other maintenance items over and above BMW's "oil service" and "inspections" that were done:
- Oil and filter change every 10,000 kms - done at RMP (as opposed to BMW's recommended 25,000 km range)
- Swaybar endlinks all (4) replaced - done at RMP (the rear-left was worn)
The car has not required anything else outside of that and basic maintenance (including my more frequent oil changes)
- Full life time rust proofing

The car's finish has been maintained by a detailing shop in town that caters to a lot of high-end cars. It is called A1 Car Cleaning and they have 4 locations in the tri-city area. The first owner of this car took the car there (Waterloo location) every Saturday morning as well. The interior of this car is immaculate. This car drives, shifts, sounds and feels as good as a well taken care of 2003 540i with 30,000 kms.

This car has never been tracked or dragged. I did intend on dynoing it at some point and then maybe taking to the drag strip but my busy schedule has not allowed me to do the dynoing let alone anything else.

NOTES:
- A lot of ads that I have read will claim to have the sports package but the car clearly has the chrome trim around the windows - a clear indicator of NO sports package. The M-technic package is different (that is body kit only and M badges all over the interior of the car, but no M5 engine obvioulsy)

This bit of information I found a while back and saved it in case I was ever to own one of these cars and I eventually did:
- What makes the 2003 model year of the 540i unique (outside of it being the last year of the 540):
There are only 1,265 of them made. They have their own series of vin numbers: NA Limousine GF70811 - GF72075 = 1265 cars. This one falls in to the latter part of that sequence (late 03 build date).

Out of that bunch the number of black on black specimens were limited and this one is unique in that it was ordered with the hard to find 16-way comfort seat option overriding the 12-way sport seat option on the otherwise sport packaged model (this was a $2000 upgrade over and above the sport package).

Reason for selling:
As mentioned earlier, I commute almost 200 kms round trip per day for work which is why I am selling. I am planning on getting a Jetta TDI to commute with and look for the perfect M5 garage queen to replace the void that selling this car will leave.

i think that the price is a little to high for 180k. as i can see it has been well maintained but people will still know its too much for this kind of a car. i think the maximum you can get is 20k.

I know, the mileage is a bit high (thanks to my commute) and I am flexible on price a bit, but $20K would be too much of a hit for me.

I am hoping that the condition of the car along with some of the simple Dinan upgrades can offset the mileage to justify the price... more so the condition though because I know that mods generally do not add value to a car - Dinan or not (although the Dinan name generally does carry a premium).

It has been serviced at the same dealer from day 1 and been religiously and meticulously maintained and for a car of this caliber maintenance is a big thing since so that the next owner does not get stuck with big maintenance bills.
