E36 gas leak
Hey guys my 93' 318i is leaking gas at times, mainly in the morning before i leave for work. It's not leaking a lot of gas but enough to piss you off. I had it looked at and they could'nt find where it was leaking so they tightened up the seals. It did this a few years ago when my dad drove the car and they also couldn't find where the leak was coming from. Fortunatly for me some 3 years later it started doing it again and will do it from time to time and I was wondering if you guys had any ideas or if this has happened to any of you?

mine isnt leaking yet but i can smell the gas, it could be the lines themselves deteriorating, not the seals

Yeah, he said that since he could'nt find it, the lines are most likley rotting out.

I had the same issue with my 93 318, the lines leading from under the car up to the fuel pump were all rotten out.

Took it to a shop, the replace both hard lines with a pair of rubber lines. It was a temporary fix, I wasn't planning to keep the car much longer.
