He was pushing a lil too hard however i find it weird that the car was understeering soo much. Besides Mercs generally are not the best cars for twisties. Too powerfull and way too heavy. On the plus side they are seriously fast on straights so all you need to do is go slow on the turns and fast on the staights with early breaking.
I think the first good merc for handling for a while now is the C class AMG. The rest all fall in the above category

Nothing wrong with the car. Very much a "user error" You can see him applying more and more steering while the car is already sliding straight on... Take any driving course, first thing they teach ya about under understeer is that applying more steering will not help. Although don't know what would've helped in this case, other than some better judgment.

how bad was the impact do you think? he seemed to fly into that corner with heat

At first I was like, naw he's doing it purposely. LOL.. It seems as though everyt corner that he was in he was taking it nervously. I don't know anyone who can clmost lose control that many times and still push their luck.
