alright so I just filled up with Shell 89 AGAIN, but I noticed my tank only took 56L of gas.. so math time...
56L / 650 *100 = 8.6L/100KM
SHELL! baby SHELL!

Just 100% I get close to 600km a tank, everyday driving which is 80KM highway and 7 KM city..w ith stop and go traffic.. be lucky to hit 500 on a tank... 120KM/h on the highway.. I really have to start driving like a grandma.. 110 or less on the highway.. The weight in my car doesn't help either, and my AC is bustificated, so roof and windows down on the highway..
There are so many factors when it comes to fuel mileage, from plugs etcc, to weight(sound system) to dirt on the car...
Change Plugs
O2 Sensor(s)
Coils
Fuel Filter
And gut the car, carpet, spare, backseat, soundsystem and everything you'll see a huge difference..

I drive 110 on the highway, using cruise control. let the computer find the best pedal pressure!!
also on a 60km/hr road i always shift into 5th. unless going up a hill.. tends to bog a little bit.
I have my spare included as well.. just that maybe I always shift under 3k rpm too!

did you see the new top gear episode?
Shows that an m3 can get better mileage than a prius, all depends on how you drive.

from the various articles iv read the diff between the drag created by having windows open and the strain from the ac being on - the difference is negligible. meaning that regardless of what is on, ur using the same amount of fuel. AC is slightly better.
Most of ur fuel mileage losses comes from stop and go traffic so going 110 or 120 wont make a big impact. Hell i got 600km to a tank going 140-180 most of the way to London and back.

My 94 318 was getting only around 420km per tank(14L/100km)!!, about 80% City 20% Highway, decided to do a little tune up,
O2 sensor
Air Filter
Sparks
Now a full tank of Shell 91 gets over 600km (9.6L/100km)
