Stock or K&N

hi i was wondering what kind of air filter you guys would recommend on my 2001 330 ci with just the stock air box.. what do you guys think of K&N or do you recommend another aftermarket brand or just keep it stock

K&N is probably one of the best. If anything they are a great investment becasue you can just clean them and reuse it.

I used to love K&N. I had one on all of my previous vehicles. (Maxima, NX-2000, Gti)
But now I worry about oil contamination on the mass air flow sensor and poor filtration. The newer cars seem to be more sensitive than the older ones.

I use the factory filter, but the e46 M3 version (13721730946) that is an extra 10mm thick filter instead of a black foam "pre-filter" glued to the bottom of the filter. This filter fits your car.

in an E34, using an aftermarket filter won't do anything, beside poor filtration and if i'm not mistaken some have experianced loss of power LOL

from my records and from what i read, i heard AFE in box air filters are the best. even better then KnN filters. dont shit on me though, thats what i heard.
