Most of us here with decent cars have seen some speeds in or around the 200km/h mark at some point. I'm not saying its a smart thing to do, but this law is just becoming an OBVIOUS cash grab, as if it couldn't have been more obvious. It's funny how they have to stress that it's mostly teens or late 20's male drivers. They never make a big stink about the old men that boogie down the highway over 50km/h and then get LET OFF the street racing charge cause they're too old to be street racing.
Just the name alone has specifically targeted younger drivers and that's got to count for discrimination!

ok...they should ATLEASTmake the law if ur going double the speed limit u get charged with "Stunt driving"....going 130 in an 80 zone can be achieved in the matter of seconds, and sometimes u wont even notice until u look at ur speedo.

lol i like that. im going to go with the second one considering he had other people in his car. And like others said, its just way too obvious that the police are going to be out in full force this weekend....THEY LIVE FOR THESE WEEKENDS. Atleast this kid got pulled over (although im sure he rather hit a pole and died cuz of the ass rapage he shall get in court, and from daddy). There was a minivan travelling way above the speed limit in an 80 zone, but didnt get pulled over, instead he met a couple poles, trees and a fence after loosing control. driver was ejected dispite the seatbelt and two others are in critical condition...go figure. They couldn't wait to next weekend to speed when the cops wont be out as much?

This is exactly why:
1. I am moving to Toronto from Mississauga
2. I am driving a 318i (higher than 120 km/h I am pushing my RPMs too high anyway)
3. I never make road trips in Ontario
I feel sorry for you 540is and M3s. And sorry to teh cops that they can't grab any money from me.
They can have a big **** YOU instead

How many of u here have lost someone close because some punk racing, speeding or aggressive driving lost control and ended everything. Nothing in the past has been done and the punk is out free enjoying his life. Speeding tickets were a joke to fight with a good lawyer and the accused are set free.
The new racing law has been the only thing so far positive to put all speeders and aggressive drivers to control their driving behavior or at least think about it. I'm 100% for this new racing law. For the next person thinking that your speeding privileges’ are taken away you need to come to your senses and safety is a step closer to prevention.

^^next time you jay walk, i'm gonna shoot you in the face, because a 18 wheeler MIGHT swerve to miss you, and instead hit a 4 year old child. preventative action

I hope one day you're caught speeding when you're in a rush to get somewhere and get raped with this non sense law. I do feel that people should be punished for their stupid actions but on that same note, I believe in due process and not having my personal property ****ed with.

not that many actually haven't you seen the statistics?
Much more people are killed by drunk drivers, but they still get a fair trail and due process.
NO ONE is arguing that Speeding/Streetracing SHOULD BE ALLOWED.
- the law is fine up until it gives the right for an officer to take away your car and license for a week without a fair trail. (no due process, your guilty until proven innocent, even if you are proven to be innocent your out your license for two weeks and impound/towing fees)
