Removing bird dropping etching

Damn birds. One dumped a big load on my black hood. I washed it off a day later only to see the haze left from the droppings. I tried waxing after washing to see if it'll go away, but no good. Any suggestions other than sanding and repainting? Thanks.

did you try polish? or claybar or if those can't get it out, try some rubbing compound (becareful with this, it can strip your clear coat if you don't know what you're doing)

no - the wax didn't work, so I'll try the polish next.

damn, that sucks brother. I have a stain on my roof that came out itself over numerous washes

wax probably wouldn't work because it's more of a protectant, depending on what kind of wax you bought.

Gamite is right, you should polish it then wax it back. Those bird shit have some kind of acid in it. If you don't take it off right away it will give it a stain. If you don't have a polisher just dap a little polish on it and rub it lightly. Then put wax over it. Good luck
