Anyways, I still don't understand what the big deal with gas prices is. Average mileage is what, 24k/year? If you're driving your 6cyl BMW like a normal person that's 200L/month. So if the gas prices have gone up 20c...that's $40 extra per month. Not saying that's completely unnoticable, but is it really the end of the world?
And if all this does is cause people to reduce their pointless driving, then all the power to the raising of prices. I don't mind helping the environment and clearing the roads a bit, even if it is making someone a billionaire.

+1
if the most expensive part of having my car on the road is gas, me = happy camper.

although i cried a bit at the pump today... coming to think of it.. what do u expect. everything inflates. real estate goes up, min wage goes up, ur salary increases from time to time. price of food goes up... so what do u expect, gas to stay at 80cents forever?
think about what involves to get that liter from saudi arabia all the way here. lots of processing and transporting and employees involved.. they need to get paid.
i know its not that simple and the oil companies are making huge profit, but so are all other huge companies.
but... it does suck that canada taxes gas like crazy

oh woop dee doo!
have you see how rich the arabs live with there oil companies? have you not seen pictures of dubai?
but I know Canada is such a bitch in increasing our prices which should be par with america but what can people do. They will keep increasing our taxes forever .. its the only country where people dont riot or protest enough to get what we want.

Transport involved? our gas comes from the states which as oil comes from us. Does no one know that Canada is the largest exporter to the US for Crude?
Realistically speaking we should be living like we are in Dubai and paying pennies for gas. The problem is that the provinces control their own resources. So Alberta can sell it to the US and the rest of us have to buy it back. The Federal government can only tax the whole country, not just one province, so we all pay high gas tax cuz Alberta does not want to play ball.
