Oil is in no way set by supply & demand in the marketplace. All the oil companies merely use it to their advance. The Barrel $ goes up, gas goes up. That Barrel $ goes down, gas stays the same. Why? They say when the barrel $ goes up, it costs more for them to buy. When it goes down, they said they just bought expensive oil.

People keep pushing up the cost of the barrel because retarded people keep saying gas prices are going to rise to $X.XX/L by the summer. So, everyone tries to invest to make a profit. Not realising that they themselves are merely riding the "wagon", pusing up the price and allowing other investors to make the profits.

There is no justification that gas prices have raised 50-100% in 4 years. It's not like we've had a sudden oil shortage or anything. If fact, the oil companies cut down production to keep the price up. The fact that Canada also has one of the LARGEST oil reserves in the world, clearly means nothing for our gas prices. 'Cause we have one of the highest. =\

I need a raise.

My sister had an '07 250 ZZR...it was hot. She traded it for a modded '04 500 though, which is hotter.

Anyways, I still don't understand what the big deal with gas prices is. Average mileage is what, 24k/year? If you're driving your 6cyl BMW like a normal person that's 200L/month. So if the gas prices have gone up 20c...that's $40 extra per month. Not saying that's completely unnoticable, but is it really the end of the world?

And if all this does is cause people to reduce their pointless driving, then all the power to the raising of prices. I don't mind helping the environment and clearing the roads a bit, even if it is making someone a billionaire.

+1. I don't get the frantic cries of terror, either. I'm pretty sure last summer the prices were higher than $1.20 for 87, it doesn't really nail the wallet THAT hard. Sure, it's annoying as hell to be gouged but what choice do we have?
