Automatic Transmission Service

Thinking about getting my Tranny services in my 2003 540i. Anyone have any recoomendation on where to go? The guys at AutoTrend told me to go to Toronto Automotive Transmission Service (it's downtown, on Parliament). Wondering if anyone else ahs used them? If not, where do you gus get your car serviced?

Has anyone here used Toronto Automotive Transmissions yet?

I just called them for a quote for my '99 540iT and they are willing to replace 5 litres tranny fluid, filter and upgrade the tranny software to the latest for $150. I find it hard to believe they can do this work including parts for so little money when BMW charges more than that for just the fluid alone.

I was surprised as well at the price. Never got around to going though (not open w/e).
They come very highly recommended from Autotrend. I asked them about the fluid and they said it was OEM.

Appointment booked for tomorrow morning at Toronto Automatic Transmissions.

Right now she is running good apart from a bit of a hard down shift once in a while, the fluid/filter change + software updrade should fix this tho. I figure I'd rather spend $150 plus taxes and have the tranny last longer or before something bad happens.

I had my 97 540 tranny rebuilt at Toronto Transmission in 2005, I believe. They did great work. I no longer have the car for other reasons. If I recall, all of Maranello's dealerships, including Ferrari, outsource their transmission work to Toronto Transmission. You should be in good hands.

Everything went great, they changed the tranny oil and filter and updated the firmware for the transmission as quoted. They painted my rusted transmission pan that was a nice surprise. The transmission shifts are alot smoother and going into reverse is alot quicker although it was never really a problem before. Matthew says they send a guy to Germany for training and they buys all the parts and the proper fluid in bulk from Germany. They apparently do the transmission rebuilds for most if not all the BMW dealers around Toronto.

It has only been a day but all is well and over all, I am happy with the service and the price was right, I would definitely recommend this shop for transmission service.
