Paint process has begun!

Spent the other night stripping the car to get it ready for the body work.

Here are some pictures

Here is the condition of the paint

Going with a darker shade of gray with some pearl in it.

What I've added to get it ready for paint, plastic bumper conversion with reiger infinity replica lip, is style side skirts and mtec2 rear lower valance.

Going to be installing the turbo setup within a couple weeks and a set of eibachs

I'll update this thread as the work progresses.

Tomorrow I have to find a way to attach that mtech2 rear to the rear bumper that I shortened. I actually spent a entire day cutting the rear valance of a 88 and stripped it down to just the outter skin but ended up just grabbing the Eurostyle valance.

Also plan on stripping the bay as much as possible and taping off the engine.

Btw I found that centre cap for $40 bucks.

It's funny how clean a camera phone can make a car look, it really needed this paintjob

Going with this colour with a little something done with the pearl.

It's called Tungsten Grey Metallic code T8 or 32P on Mazdas.

They've started the body work, I'll get some picture updates for tonight.

Update

Yeah I know my interior is getting trashed, will detail it once they're done.

Gonna drop off a bottle of Crown to keep the body guys happy tomorrow, just gotta hope they don't drink too much while working on the car.

I'll keep them coming

Working with rear bumper and Eurostyle valance.

Heres how it sits with no trimming done

You can see where I shortened and patched the bumper together to work on a early car. I used two part plastic glue, made for bumpers and plastic parts.

This is before any trimming

After some trimming to fit

As you can see still needs work but getting there

This side is a pretty tight fit now

Trimming was done from the inside to line up properly with the bottom lip of the bumper.
