I don't get how asking if they were OEM was wanting them for nothing. And it's the jewish in me finding things for cheap.

Hey Sam, if you don't mind me asking, where did you get your M20 flywheel lightened?

Also, have you tried fitting those cross canada fenders on the car before Rich? I bought one and had it painted before mounting the front grill peices and when I assembled everything later i noticed a big gap between the front grill and the fender but it lined up everywhere else (poorly..). I'll get a pic later on. It looks like a problem with the mold they use rather than the individual peice. I haven't had good experiences with their parts in the past either TBH (hoods rust easilly, shipping damage is common, poor fit).

I did it myself, but message Rudy, I'm sure his dad could do it. If not then any machine shop should be able to.

Well, got lots of work done tonight. Monday I cleaned the garage and put the car in and took the hood off.

Then tonight it went to this

Then this...

To this...

I actually broke the timing chain guide in this picture, it was worn so it needed to be replaced anyways

Then after a lot of ****ing around, and finding the mystery bolt in what looked like an oil journal the head came off. And I didn't expect it to weigh what it did. I almost killed myself getting it out. Between not ****ing up a valve and getting it off exhaust I probably took 10 years off the life of my back.

Cylinder walls have cross hatching on them, one has a tiny tiny score which is barely noticeable.

Dirty Dirty head

Cam's have no scoring. Debating doing a hot cam setup if I can figure out how to set it up at TDC.

Now I know what parts I need to order, still debating on the ARP studs, but stock head gasket and valve seals for sure. You can see a bit of oil residue on the intake valves and quite a bit on the exhaust.

10 years off your back, wait till your my age!!

Seriously though you got a good jump on the work. Put the cams in while you have it apart. Are you doing port and polish or anything head work while your in there?

Well, Scott came over today, re-routed and mounted my P/S reservoir complete with new crush washers. Installed fog light blanks.. and that was about 4 hours of work, no clue why.

Don't think you're not coming to help put this thing together. I've never done ARP studs.

I've come to the conclusion I'm going to do a hotcam setup. I just need to find a Non Vanos intake cam.

Yea, pretty much all I did was unplug the airbag sensors, and leave them dangling in the engine bay... and tell you that your (my) fog blanks look gay. I'm doing the diff swap job in my head... no room for actual work. BTW, that diff is coming out on saturday. The vert will be back to life before you know it!!

So my sunroof didn't work before and I didn't know why.

Maybe this?

So I got all the electric sunroof shit thinking it would all bolt in to the crank sunroof stuff. It kinda did after wrestling with it for 3 hours with Scott.. I need to drop the motor on it again, it's off by a couple teeth.

The head isn't back from the shop yet, maybe soon. Still waiting on wheel spacers.
