300$ 318is

So i'm at work (delivering pizza) and I popped my hood to check something. Some women walking her dogs comes over to me and is like "Hey is this your car?" I replied "Yea I know its a piece of shit give me a break." she then replies "Well i've seen you around here a couple times and i've been meaning to talk to you, I lost my license a couple months ago and I have the same car as you, its a 2 door and I was wondering if you wanted to buy it for parts" I said. "How much" she says "300$" I was like alright this chicks car is a piece of shit or she's crazy. She lived across the street and drives it over to show me.
Bitch pulled up in a Brillanrot 318is with ****ING MINT!! interior.. Only downside is the passenger door has been hit, but thats no biggy. So I rush to the bank grab 300 cash write up a bill of sale and get the ownership..

I present to you.. The 300-318!

It has the spare on it right now, but its on basket weaves, I have all 4, the back left is just in the trunk.

Theres a spot of rust underneath the right tail light, just surface.

The bad side

Mint interior!

Weak ass M10 but runs like a champ!

The bads:
Dented passenger door
SI board needs new batteries
Central locking is ****ed only works from the trunk (go figure)
Needs new brake rotors and pads
Small spots of rust
Missing the front lower part (Lip i think) of the bumper.
The good:
IT WAS 300$
The diff works perfect
interior is mint!
Runs like a champ
Mint underbody
It's a florida car (I live in Ontario Canada so thats amazing!)

The plans:
M50 swap (Or something of the sort)
I basically want to make it a track day car.

I'm going to give it a bath tomorrow, i'll keep you updated.

Thats so awesome, seems too good to be true. Maybe it's cursed like James Dean's Porsche!

That interior looks incredible, and does that wheel have an Airbag?

Awsome find. Give that car a good wax and it will look amazing. Red really cleans up with a good buffing.

"Weak ass M10 but runs like a champ!"

LMFAO well its not the M10 just so you know it is an M42 which is 1000X better all the way around. The M42 has the same block as an M3 but huge differences.

Well you got extremely lucky. What you need to do is buy a timing chain tensioner from BMW and pop it in so you don't ruin the timing components, cheap and easy insurance.

how can a 4cyl have the same block as a 6cyl.

those bumpers are worth more than you paid for the car.

'LMFAO' Well buddy you are just as wrong as the OP. I wouldn't be laughing.

The M42 block is nothing near similar to the M3 4cyl you are referring to. The only main thing they share in common is the 4cylinder engine layout, and its 16valve head layout. No parts are interchangeable.

Why replace the chain? A lot of work for not much reason. Its not a timing belt you know. Plus he said hes gonna replace the motor, so who cares. Stop spreading misinformation.
