I'd kill myself before my e39 looked like that. it has to be primer. either that or the guy is a goof trying to rice his car up.

Flat black only looks good depending on the car. The 540 does NOT have enough curves to look good in flat black. A STi on the other hand, your comparing apples to oranges. The STi has a lot of curves opposed to the 540 so it's going to look great.

The 5 series is one of the best sport sedans ever built and in many peoples' minds, the e39 is the best 5 series. Just because you can buy a '97 540 for $5000 and a facelifted '01 for $12000 doesn't mean you can demean it. If you want to rice up a car, buy something else, like a Civic. To those of you who think that a spray painted in your garage flat black 540 looks cool, grow up. Maybe one day you'll deserve a 5 series.
