Since when do they have events on long weekends?

Valid point. I guess I'm just happy it is on, as first event was simply canceled.

Nope, not this event, I'm probably going out to the Twin Lakes event the following weekend though at the Molson Park lot in Barrie. It's a way bigger and faster course, costs the same price and doesn't require membership. I'll probably be out to the BMWCC event in June though.

I guess I'll go tomorrow. It's going to rain supposely so should be more fun, but still wish they would upgrade to a bigger lot.

The BMWCC Autocross was a small turnout today of about 15 cars, which was good cause the waiting time was less. It started to rain during the last two runs or so.
It's a hell lot more fun autocrossing with a RWD, making a transition from driving a Volvo 850 wagon, but I hate how the E46 doesn't have a cheap LSD option after seeing how Mystikal could put down the power easily. My runs were mediocre as it's been a few years since I last auto-x'ed.

Thanks everyone for coming out. We had 19 cars at the event, overcast and then rainy weather which was fun too... We also made the course quite challenging and longer then usual.
Anyways, the e30 definately needs a lot of work on it. I could hear and feel the whole rear subframe clunking and shifting around, the clutch is gone too... But am very happy with the r-comps (Kumho V710s). None-the-less, for a stock 325 e30 I think I did quite well, being more then 1.5s faster then Marcel in his 330 e46 ...
Great job everyone and see you all at the next one. In the mean time I'll be installing a stock class legal suspension setup (bilstein HD shocks, 22mm front swaybar, RSMs, new control arms, tierods), half cage, new factory bushings (control arm, trailing arms and subframe) and as it looks like a new clutch too (this was a new revelation today). I would have installed the suspension parts, but IE sent me the wrong sway bar links and forgot the control arm bushings. Anyways, should have it shortly.

Tom, you and Dave did a good job today. In the end we all worked together to keep the day going smoothly, great work all around guys.
Mike, stop driving so well in that thing. I can't believe how close our times are! And Tom, it was pretty funny hearing the engine rev up as you went around the hairpin section. I think I could smell clutch, lol. I was also really happy with my new BFG KDW2s, I ran my street 32/36psi setup and judging by the sidewalls it was optimum pressure. I had closer to 40psi with the other tires I've had on the car, and still rolled over.
Can't wait till the next event.

I'm envious of your drifts or how easy it is to step it out Hopefully the courses remain similar to how they were today for the rest of the year, that is, it isn't so tight that the course is only good for small cars like the mini's. I remeber autocrossing the Volvo when it was very tight and it wasn't fun.
Looking forward to the next one.

Well a lot of the course was good for us, but that midsection with the 3 hairpins was ridiculous. I think I saw the Miata get down to a 1:08, and the Minis were definitely still untouchable.
Ah well, as long as the event is run at MDS there's no way we'll be able to catch the smaller cars. It's still fun as is, especially drifting the whole damn thing.

Thanks to everyone that helped out!!
It would have been impossible to do without the marshals. And I know its not a fun task to do in the rain.

We tried to make the course as diverse as possible with both fast and slow sections in order to challange everyone. Originally Dave designed this course to be very long and tight. I made some alterations to it to make it a bit more diverse. I layed out the first section leading up to the double gates going to the slalom in the back, and also the end section right after the curb coming from the tripple hairpins all the way to the end. I especially liked the corner right at the end beside the lamp post that you have to pass through the double gates after.
