Where do find the best bang for shocks

Im planning on getting Ground control springs but im in sort of a dilemma with which shocks to get, I understand the bilstiens are the best but theyre a little steep in price for me, i wish i could find some used ones. If anyone has any used shocks for sale please contact me or if you know of any other kind of shocks i should look into. Thanks.

I just found a package on turner motorsports for $589, H&R springs and Bilstien shocks. I think i might get that except my only problem is that it doesnt lower your front enough.

i have h&r sports on my car, and trust me, the wheel-fender gap isnt the best in the front, but your oil pan is real close to the ground, and you will learn the hard way it sucks lol

i wouldnt go lower if you dd your car

LOL @ H&R's being too low.

I was at one point slammed on GC's and i had no problems in the city.

To the OP:

I know it sucks but just man up and shell out the cash for new shocks.
I got raped 2 yrs ago for billy sports..i paid 725 for 2 front and 2 rears.

I would also recommend new since you're going with GC's too.

Maybe mine have sagged, but if i drive into my driveway to fast i will smoke my bumper and hit my oil pan no problem, and its not a very steap driveway

heres a pic of the incline

I guess it depends on the driver, but i wouldnt want to be much lower, if i had coilovers maybe, bacause it could always go back up

Yah you just gotta be more careful driving around. Like i remember i was like holy shit look at Rudy (craz azn) dodge those pot holes when he was on H&R sports i had my first e30 @ stock height....now i do it too i look like a drunk when driving on shitty roads.

PS: a 24v swapped pan will look like its just waiting to kiss the pavement.

haha yeah, you get used to it i guess, it all depends on how easily drivable you want your car, right now i dont let anyone drive my car, they hit a pot hole oil pan breaks and there goes my motor. i cant even pull into my driveway straight without scraping bumper, i always have to go crooked

Oh and Steve how hard was it to put the mtech front on without the mounting hardware, what did you use? just curious since I will be probably going mtech later on from eurostyle.

what i did for the valence was put self tapping metal screws in the stock metal valence, then the bumper is currently only held on by two srews into the rebar where the plate bracket attaches, but this weekend i will be doing something to secure it at the fenders cause it needs to be pulled in a bit to line up right.

But the way its made the bumper wedges over the rebar really tight, and i mean tight, so its already fairly secure on, so i got the two screws for now, and i will attach it at the fenders somehow

If you needed help we could meet up sometime and i could show you, but i just did this my way, im no pro lol and i havent all the way finished yet, trying to find time
