Staggered rims - what tire size

For a 2002 325ci stock height, my buddy is going to be running 18 X 8.5 up front and 18 X 9.5 in the rear, what would be the optimal tire size for this set up. Thinking 225 40 18 up front and 245 40 18 at the back - maybe even 35's or is that to thin.

And if it gets dropped in the near future, shouldnt be any rubbing issues or anything with that set up correct?

Cheers

225/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rear is the stock staggered sizing for the E46.

Arrow ^ You mean...

235/40/18 (Front) & 265/35/18 (Rear), which I've got in an almost new set of Dunlop's, listed in the "For Sale" section:

See ~~> http://maxbimmer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=103412

Tell your buddy !
