Suspension set up advice

Hello all,

I have an 02 330i and I am looking to drop it a bit. Can anyone give me some advice as to what springs (don't want coilovers) would drop is moderately but nice. I was thinking an H&R Cup Kit. Please give me your advice. Pics of the lowered suspension on the car would help.

Thanks!

Hi Pierce,

I have an H&R cup kit on my car and it's pretty low. I wouldn't call it moderate

If you want less drop, just install OEM sport package springs (you can probably find a used set for cheap) or H&R sport springs.

Thanks Karim...that is good advice. Do you drive your car in the winter time?

jhw, how much lower does the car sit on the sport springs? Can you tell the difference between the two sets of springs?

Thanks guys...appreciate your time!

I do drive the car in the winter Not always easy, but feasible. I VERY highly recommend good winter tires

The H&R Sport springs will lower the car 1.4" in the front and 0.75" in the rear compared to stock springs.

The OEM Sport package springs will lower the car a bit less in front (around 1.25") and a bit more in the rear(around 1").

The main difference is that the H&R springs will lower the front more, to give the car the right "stance". It will look more aggressive

I'm running H&R cup kit all year round and think it's great, this is my second winter on them, not too low, no issues whatsoever. Just make sure to upgreade the RSM's while you're at it, Rogue Engineering makes a great kit.

Gentlemen,

Thanks for the advice and pics (nice car by the way, mine is the exact same except it is silver)...those are just eibach sports on stock shocks/struts? I am impressed with the look. I need to buy winter rims/tires for next year. My car sat in the driveway too much this winter because of the snow.

I am stuck...cup kit is nice too...eibach springs/pro kit...

So many decissions. What shop was that, Bimmer sport?
