Hey guys, What do these mean?

227: Fuel trim bank 1 permissible range exceeded
228: Fuel trim bank 2 permissible range exceeded

what car? I would say MAF.

What motor? a v8?

Sounds like a mis-fire(or un-ideal mixture detected) in each bank.

Does the engine run rough when it comes on?

Clear the code and see if it comes back on.

^^^i'm guessing since he is on the E46 forum, he is talking about an E46 so it will be an inline six. Misfire would register a misfire code. Fuel trim usually is the MAF

sorry guys maybe i should have mentioned what engine it is!

It's a M52B25, engine light came on, I scanned it, these codes popped up:
227: Fuel trim bank 1 permissible range exceeded
228: Fuel trim bank 2 permissible range exceeded

The engine runs fine and smooth and no other problem with the car!

Check for vacuum leaks, or possible MAF problem!
