to be honest i really dont think theres any need for syntec, especially on a low revving eta engine.

As far as I know starting to use a synthetic oil on a high mileage engine will only cause leaks and such. If i had a newer motor with low km's I would, but with anything over 200K whats the point? It's not going to help you having leaks you didnt have before.

i think i'm gonna stick with the normal castrol oil, one of my buddies used it once and never used it again because it ran bad... dealer also told me not to use it just stick with the normal stuff or put half bottle of lucas and change it every 3000 or 4, with 10w40..

synthetic is allot more watery and thin and will find its way out of places that normal oil couldn't get through. I don't know about an engine running worse but it runs different.

forthe e30 the lowest grade oil is good enough.

also the lowest grade fuel is good enough.

afterall its an old car designed to run off the low end liquids.

If you change your oil every 5K, why spend the extra $ on synthetic when you can have frequent changes with mineral?

I use 20w50 but for summer. Don't run it in the winter but if I did I would probably run 10w30.

what he said. only i put 10w40 in the summer. 20w50 SUCKS for the winter. killed my battery in -20 trying to turn over the darn thing. i changed that out but quick.
