Get the VIN # off of the car and call the dealer for the history. The best place to get it inspected is the dealer aswell. For a fee they will hook-up your car to a diognostic computer to see if there is anything wrong with it.

Good luck with the bimmer. and post pics when you get it.

The bmw dealership would be ok with me just calling in with a VIN?

I say bring the car to the dealer and get them to hook up the car to the diognostic computer and they can tell you anything you want about the cars mechanicals. it will be about $80 CDN

go to a trusted mechanic (depending on what he services) otherwise, like the other guys said, a dealer or carfax is a good way. good luck, i hope u find somethin tight. then again all bimmers are tight.
