I am now at a crossroads

I have done quite a bit of stuff to my E30, but now someone is interested in buying it. I do not know if I want to sell it to them or not though!~? The guy is offering a good bit of money. Enough that I could buy a E34 540i! What do you guys think? Should I do it? Does anyone know of anyone selling an E34 540i manual tranny!>? Are the manual trannies really hard to find? THANKS GUYS!

Don't sell it! it's not worth it, you will lose your shirt if you've put a lot of money into your E30.

I sold my E30 325i and had to buy another one cause I missed it so much. I didn't make any money that's for sure.

Plus you can get a supercharger for like 3000-4000 for the e34 4.0L and then you are cranking out over 400HP~! I would have to put $10,000 for a M3 motor swap in my E30 to put out even 3/4 of that much power!

It depends on your situation, what do you need the car primarily for, do you have a family (wife/kids), are you ever going to track it, how much modding do you want to do, your budget, blah blah blah. Personally if I was in your situation, I'd go 540 (in stick), only because I have driven both the 540i and an e30 325i.

How does the 540 handle when really pushed? Is the heavier car better in the wet? I'm kinda stuck between a turbo E30 325 and an 740 or 840 for a weekend car.

In Poland E30 325 sell for 1,000-2,000USD, E36 325/E32/E34 for 5,000-6,000USD. I've even seen an E34 M5 advertised for $5,000USD and an E36 M3 for 7,000USD. 850's go for 10,000USD.

Mind you most of those BMW's are way overdue for mayor service and $$$ repairs.

I've driven a stock E36 318TDS for a few months and I hate how fat and big the car is. I really miss my 1100kg TX3 4WD Turbo hatch (Mazda 323GTX in the US, 350HP T3 turbo, custom exhaust manifold, dump pipe, 3inch exhaust, 550cc injectors, microtech computer...).

I want the tiny E30 but I'm not sure if its worth the money for a full rebuild from scratch. It wouldn't be hard to spend 20,000USD on a 400hp 20year old E30 that might have 5,000USD resale value. Considering price of new perfomance parts it probably cheaper to rent a new M3 from a dealer

Well so far there are more votes to get rid of my E30 and get an E34 540i All the six speed E34's i have seen are around 11-12K USD though. Could I get an auto and convert it to 6 speed? How hard or easy would it be how much do ya'll thik it would cost? Also if anyone has any leads on cheaper E34 6 speeds lemme know!

BoBimmer try searching thru online and paper ads. It's a lot cheaper to wait 1-2months for a good deal than having to your car spend 1-2months at the mechanic getting some mods done.
