opinions on e30 exhaust
I need a muffler for the e30. I was going to go with Stebro, but find they're hard to deal with and kind of expensive for what you get.
I can get an Ireland Engineering stainless bat back for about $300 + shipping (ebay).
But what I'd prefer to do is get a Magnaflow dual in / out with some tips ($150 + shipping) and get a local shop to install it. I really like the one on my 540 (though it was a little loud, lol).
Anyone have advice? Anyone know a shop that can do the welding work?
Oldskoole30, did I read that you have a magnaflow somewhere? Is it a dual?

I have always loved the sound of remus exhausts but the are fairly expensive and getting harder to find. You might be able to locate a universal one with dual inlets. Besides that I love the sound of my stock muffler/ hollow cat but considering you still need etest thats probably not the right road for you. The IE exhaust seems like a fairly good deal at 300 for a cat back.
Lee got all his custom 3" exhaust mounted at autovation? I think it's in stittsville and they seem to do a good job. We'll be able to tell better in the spring when it comes out of storage. The price was also extremely fair and the guys were super nice plus the owner has a blower on his e36 m3.
Found their site: http://www.autovation.ca/

Dan's Muffler and Brake out in Metcalfe did the custom work on my old 300ZX (Dynomax cat and muffler with 2.5" piping), and the repair work on my late father's wagon. He does good work, and his prices are fair. He custom bends the pipe -- it's not mandrel bent, but at least they are smooth bends, unlike the crinkle bends some places sell.

Haha, ya, the 5er was loud. VERY loud. No, it didn't quite down at all. How could it, it was basically a straight pipe!
Anyway, thanks for the feedback / links. I have dealt with Midas in Bells Corners and found them to be very helpful. I'll stop in there and see if they would be up for doing it, otherwise, I'll go see autovation. They're both near my work.
Thanks for the help!

Just bought a 14815 magnaflow from hottexhaust. I spoke to Simon today at bell's corners midas who was more than happy to do the custom work for it. Yay!

I bet you I got mine cheaper!! I found a 12% discount code online for them, plus their 10.5% sale, plus I lied about living in QC for billing so no PST, lol. I hope it goes through!
$151.60 LOL.

Google is your friend, lol. Anytime I see "COUPON" on the site I immediately hit google and look for leaked coupons. The QC trick is just plain illegal.

Killer deal Jay. I can't say I've heard an e30 with a magnaflow. You have any sound clip links?
Edit...just as a side note, I still say the best exhaust for the e30 is no exhaust.
