Replicas yes, no, depends?

when it comes to wheels i am a total noob. i can pick what looks nice but beyond that i am lost.

I am in need for new wheels come next spring, and when i look around i either see the "real deal" from tirerack etc. where rims go for 400-500 bucks a piece. and then i also find the "OE replicas" on websites and ebay where you can get the same style wheels for about 200 bucks a pop.

whats the general verdict on replicas? if anybody has some pointers on good/bad brands, websites etc.

here is an example

the wheels i have my heart set on for my black 325is are these babies, if anyone has a cheaper source than tirerack let me know

I just bought my Style 37 18 inch staggered M Par from OE Wheels after a visit to their warehouse in Sarasota and was very impressed. The main feature between replicas and OEM is the manufacturing process. The OEM is forged and that reduces weight and in the car world, lighter equals more expensive. Lighter car also equals lighter wallet! I was very impressed with the quality from OE wheels and only time will tell. A lot of members over at bimmerfest are also pleased. The rims are just clearing customs today and should be here soon. Once we get rid of the snow, the rims go on. Come to the cruise in May to check mine out. I ordered mine with PZero rubber and the total was 1600.00 including shipping, a lot cheaper then a dealership!
