Slow progress this week... but progress is progress right?

Can I haz BBS?

Umm...

Too bad the tires I have a tad too wide... 10" slick on a 9" rim = fail

Back to the 15" rims idea. I guess the Kosei K1s from my e30 will find their way onto the 2002 soon enough.

Thats all for this week folks.

Got a spare minute in between school and started to pull the donor lump out. Will use it as another mockup, then eventually all the fuel injection will be switched onto the 2L short block thats currently in the car.

Sorry man, I only have the one that came with the motor, and I need it. I can let you know if I come across another one.

Yesterday did some work. The 318 manifold just clears the brake booster ( was looking for an excuse to remove it) and the turbo+exhaust manifold fits nice. Going to use e30 318 rads, since I have 3... might as well recycle so bottom rad support will have to be choppy choppyed. Last thing, the motor may be relocated, 2 inches back, so that will necessitate oil pan chopping. E21 320 oil pan, and E30 318i pans won't fit

I need a new kidney grill, my friend decided as a joke to step on my bent one , which I could have fixed, so I get a new one now, courtesy of jackass friend. W00t!

I did get some picture worthy additions so far today. I wet sanded and polished the taillights that came with the car. Painted the backing silver, so the light 'pops' now all I need is a new chrome trim housing and these are set. Old one beside for comparison...

And here is the update so far. Engine bay painted with a first coat, one more to go. That will be done after all the gussets and support brackets are welded in. Just wanted to seal the metal so it wouldn't rust where it was bare.

I think the motor relocation idea will be scrapped, too much work, and I'm too lazy

Hey Sam, you are into rotaries and stuff right? I found this on another forum, you might be interested. Apparently cranks out ~420rwhp. I was impressed to say the least.
