Angry BMW dealership courtesy cars - a shady business practice or not?

Read this post linked below if you are deciding between getting a "loaner" / "courtesy" car or a rental car from your dealership when taking your car in for a service overnight:

Short version: BE AWARE - YOUR CREDIT CARD INSURANCE PROBABLY DOES NOT COVER "COURTESY" CARS FROM CAR DEALERSHIPS.

Interesting read. Thanks for sharing. If the contract states that the customer is "renting the rental car" wouldn't that mean it is. Rental car ND not simply a courtesy car? Hopefully visa ended up reimbursing him based on the definition of the car he "rented".

Definitely sounds like shady business practices to me. I wonder what came about from head office in Germany.
