If the head hasnt been changed yet, you'll get the dreaded "ticking" noise which without warranty costs about $8000-9000 to replace with new factory parts at dealer rates.
Personally i would spend the extra and get a certified series.

I heard a minor tick reminded me of my e30. Unfortunatly I don't think I'm persuing this car I went to drop off a deposit lastnight after I did that I signed an power of attorney for some reason, then I was told they are going to keep the ownership for my jeep the vehicle I'm still driving.. I would be given a photocopy......ummm no. Then I was sent to speak with the finance dept and they wanted me to sign a purchase agreement... I refused and the guy started being a dick so I'm walking away. My deposit is refundable but they don't know when they can give it back to me because they don't have the code to open the safe....

i don't get the deposit thing. so you gave the deposit and signed something? what did you sign? the dealer doesn't have to give the deposit back. that's the point of a deposit that you are intending to buy it.

I think he did the reverse;
give deposit first then send to rmp or bimmersport for inspection..
the dealer should allow you (Eurocar demands that you see your own mechanic first) or you demand that an inspection by your mechanic be the 1st business then you take it from there..
he will get back his deposit after they minus administration fee...

Your right on the money. They wanrted the depost so I can take it to rmp... I went and spoke with them lastnight and we came to an agreement. I'm satill taking the car for an inspection and they are dealing with the guy that pissed me off. Because apparently I'm not the first person to. Walk away.....

I guess whats important is that you're confident in the sale.

06/07 323i sell for 14500+ at BMW Financial auctions with the remainder of the factory warranty - the cheapest off-lease BMWs ever.
