coolant reservoir crack / Auxiliary fan

Car - e46 99 240,000km

My reservoir tank just burst. Im not sure why or if anyone else has experienced this. I will replace it on the weekend. Im just wondering if anyone has any recommendations on where to purchase coolant and what type of coolant I should use.

Also my rad fan (Auxiliary fan) will not turn off. It just keeps running regardless if the car is running or off. For know I have plugged out the fan and parked the car until I can resolve these issue's. Has anyone repaired this fan? From my understanding there is a black box or relay that can be replaced are their any DIY on this?

Blue stuff from the dealer. Mike @ Maranello can hook you up for like $18/jug.

Expansion tank is plastic and becomes brittle over time.

A notorious BMW problem.
