Most cities have a blanket policy that covers claims. Up to a pre determined amount. Usually under 2g for pot holes causing damage ect. worst thing that could happen is they say forget it. Just rememeber you will always get a no before a yes. cant hurt to try. good luck

First off you have 10 days under the municipal act to provide a letter to the City indicating what happened along with all of the specifics and details of the damage. Then depending on their reveiw of this letter it will either be accepted and damages covered or they will deny it (which happens approximately 99.9% of the time). I'd take lots of pictures to document the damage and damage causing pot hole, provided with the letter.

The attitude tends to be that, that's why you have insurance. Anyways sorry to hear, and I hope that it's covered for you.
