my overheating problem

ok so yesterday I flushed the cooling system but the prob is still there. The auxillary fan kicks in and main fan is good. One think I noticed is that If I turn on the heat to full blast while idleing the temp will go back towards normal temp. Does this mean that I need a new water pump. My cars build is 7/95 I thought that the metal pumps started after 1/95?
