Right windshield wiper stopped

Was cruising along and then my right windshield wiper just stopped working. I can physically move the wiper through-out its whole range of motion.

This the motor being dead?

wiper transmission broke. (yes, this is what it's called).
If you want to verify, open your hood and take off the mesh at the top of your engine bay right in front of the base of the wipers... just prys right off. You'll see the wiper tranny under there.. big metal think which links both wiper arms. It'll be broken.

So just need that new part, install it, and I'm good to go?

mine did the exact same thing today. Passenger side suddenly stopped working. But as I looked at it, it was trying to work, so I jumped out of the car, took a look and it was slipping on the spleen. I just tightened up the bolt, and she's working again.

(13 mm socket will work, and all you have to do to get at it is open your hood.)

Yes it could just need tightening too. If you heard a "bang" when it stopped working, then the wiper transmission broke. All you need is that part and replace it... you'll need small hands though, it's a PITA to change...
