Why my AA gen 3 muffler sounds like a stock muffler???

Hi guys

today I brought my Active Autowerkes gen 3 muffler to the muffler shop and the exhaust sound is exactly same as stock 323ci...

I had magnaflow before,, I do feel that there is a bit of performance increase but the muffler sound is exactly same as stock one....

do you have any idea??

I didn't remove any resonator but just installed cat back...

Mine isn't close to one of those...

Probably because you just have the axle-back version?

I have GenIII on my 95 M3 and it does not sound near the stock muffler. Maybe your stock one was done?

Those AA exhausts are always very quiet. If you want it to be louder, go catback, or remove some resonators.

AA makes one of the quieter exhausts systems.
You should of went with UUC/Borla/Remus

if you "feel" a performance gain lol than whos to complain, honestly your driving a BMW not a race car, it shouldnt be loud, besides have you been outside the car and listened to it while someone else is driving?

+1....honestly all a loud exhaust does is bait out your scene.

Removing the 2nd resonator doesn't make a big difference. I don't notice it on my Rogue Ikon.

You could get e-bay headers and it'll definitely sound louder.

Rogue Ikon & DMS, UUC TSE 3 Light, AA are all axle back exhaust. I believe Remus is as well.

The only full-cat back exhaust for E46s that I know of is UUC TSE3 and Borla.
