How much margins is there really in a Canadian dealership?

I've heard many different numbers. Some people say it's 10%. Some people say it's 7%. What is it really?

When I am going in for a negotiation, how much room do I have to work with?

The margin will depend on the dealership.

But it is safe to say they average about 5-10%. As on some deals they make more and less on some,
It’s also about how fast they want to move there inventory.

If we are talking a used dealership the margins could be even more than 10%
