Hey Redster, I'm also an avid fisherman
Have you tired Belwood lake?
They have boats you can rent or you can fish on land too.
If your really hardcore, I've seen ppl fly fishing below the dam. (wearing waiters of course)
Depending on the season, I've caught catfish, bass, pike, trout, and sunfish at this location.
They have a bait shop right in the conservation to make things easy.

You mean when you take 400 North, get off at 89 and go where 89 meets nottasawaga river. That spot beside the bridge?
I went there last year. I was fishing with a twister and had not luck. However , I could see someone used warms around that spot.
LOL 14 lbs is a massive. I bet you that was hell of a fight.

She was a fighter all right..but my first choice is still taking out a salmon, that's a fighter and they don't get tired very fast
I'm going to Belwood tomorrow, we'll try using live bait and see if we can get pike but they are extremely lazy in the summer comparing to fall/spring.

Just uploaded a video of catching a 10 lbs pike at Mountsberg last year. My buddy had a dink pike on the lure and this 38 inch pike come and chomped on him and wouldn't let go! The bigger fish was not hooked at all...he was determined to keep his lunch!
