2007 E92 Troubleshooting Help

So yesterday I went off to run a few errands and 10 minutes into my drive the car just stalled. (no warning, just check engine light came on) I tried restarting several times after it stalled but it just kept cranking with no success on starting up...

after a few minutes she started up and I was on the road again only to stall a few minutes later.

After 45 minutes I managed to get my car back home and ran an OBD scan with no success at all. No codes to be found.

Now early today I took apart my Mass Flow Sensor and cleaned it out and at the same time i figured let me go ahead and clean out my K&N air filter.

put it back together and took the car for a boot. after 5 minutes of driving i got the same problem again.

any ideas what to look at??
not sure what the problem may be.

Use a better scanner. Symptoms sounds like it could be crank shaft positioning sensor, but that’s just a guess.
CEL will leave a code.

We had the eccentric shaft sensor go on my wife's e90, it would run fine most of the time but then it would hunt for idle a bit then stall seemingly randomly while driving (even while moving.) If you remove the connector, and see oil it's a bad sign. It would always start fine though.

It didn't show up with an odbII scanner, maybe one of the more advanced bmw specific tools might have stored something, but the shop said no abnormal event data was recorded around the multiple stalls.

More details on the procedure:
