IMHO if your car is insured, the insurance company will pay you I suppose? No worries.

If they took a new camry they're clearly looking for an appliance not a car, you should be safe.

Correct. Assuming that most finance a new car as 09 camry, I was thiking he has theft hooked up as well.

When I first got my insurance licence, you didn't pay a deductible when your car was stolen. (if you had theft coverage)

Theft is considered not-at-fault type of claim. They will try to first get the deductible out of you depending on how ethical your insurance companies claims departments are. But you really don't have to pay it.

Unfortunately, this is not the case.

Theft is a comprehensive claim. (fault is only assigned in collision claims) Deductible almost ALWAYS applies, nothing to do with ethics.
