Red face NEw Skyline GTR RULEZ!

The engine choice is still much of a speculation. Rumors vary between turbo-charged V6 and V8 or normally aspirated V8 (at least for international markets), which are expected to produce between 335hp and 450hp

I love it!

actually the G35 is the R35 in Japan................
and the thing with Nissan, the disaster is they use all the same engine for family cars, SUV, and their sport cars...even 350Z..., I hope they won't just turbocharger their new R35 GTR..(or maybe let's just say GTR, cuz the rumour was they are going to separate the GTR and R35, so two models line..)

chk this
http://skyline2.nissan.co.jp/index3.html
(it's in Japanese, but ppl should can a certain idea from the pics~~!)

also, the rumour for the new GTR is they might just put a supercharger on the Q45 engine................which I'd be afraid to admit it.....................but that just seems right with Nissan's new business strategy..............share the engines to lower the cost(since engine is the most expensive to develop), so by adding a turbocharger on a current V8 engine should make something like 500HP easy, and how much does the turbo gonna cost them?sigh...........poor nissan, well, but after all, it proves that BMW really cares about car lovers..(at least 330 and M3 have a huge diff in both engine and chasis, and a 540 can never be a M5, and so on................)
and my point is that..........a special car or top of the line's model deseves a special development&parts, so does the owner?~~!

(hope I did not go offtop so much............

I don't like the headlights. As far as turbo charging an engine, it's not just a matter of slapping on a turbo and off you go with 500 BHP. Nissan has to warrenty the engine and drivetrain. I'm no expert but here's a list of parts that I would assume are required for longevity.
1) Larger injectors & fuel pump.
2) Re-mapped DME
3) Stronger con rods, crank shaft, tranny & differential
4) Lower compression pistons and/or shorter con rods
5) Header and less restrictive exhaust system

If you double the HP of an engine and don't follow up with these mods (and more), the engine will go pop or something downstream will break (drivetrain). The forced induction guys like Randy and DJContra can can correct any info if I'm wrong.
just my opinion

true, even with turbo or SC, the engine itself needs to get some mod. to insure the stability as well, but it still won't cost as much as developing another new great engine like M cars...........or maybe not even half of the cost..........and if they just turbocharge it, then it doesn't bring the car/engine itself a unique characteristic, which is required for a unique or a legend car like GTR
