Power Steering leaking

Well my power steering fluid likes to disappear on me! The pump was replaced last year, So I am guessing it is just the hose that connects the resevoir to the pump... Just thought i would tell all you people, for the heck of it.

Most likely the rack end seals. Hoses rarely leak alot, usually just a slow seep.

New rack is ~570 retail.

have fun with that.

Yikes, thats pretty steep. And Im guessing thats USD so for us up here its slightly more. I might have the same problem, my steering was getting really creaky the past week and when I checked today the fluid was REALLY low. I gotta see if it drops again, if so then I might have the same problem as you.

ok Well i found a rip in my left side boot, and when i squeeze it is gushes out fluid, so I am guessing this means that my gasket and seals are gone within the rack it self. is it worth it to replace the seals or just change the whole rack.. any help would be greatly appreciated.

My PS has gotten stiffish - you know when it feels like it hasn't clicked in until about 1/8 of a turn, then it seems to catch. A feeling I used to associate with possibly low fluid but I checked the fluid with the engine running, cranked the wheel etc. and there's lots of fluid.

Well see mine does not click.. just wines and pisses fluid every where.. the fluid is comming out of the left side boot.. so my guess would be it is the seals inside the rack that are shot! please help me diagnose if you have any pointers!
thanks!
