Why you do recommend it over xtec? You need to state ur reason when making a claim. I have neither kit or have any experience with them, so i have no comment.

But generally, its good a give a reason why ur saying something.
Whoa there turbo, relax

I reccomend ProLumen over xtec simply because of the problems I have read about people having with the xtec units. I guess they don't all suck though since my friend has their kit in his E36 with no issues. Just sharing my opinion.

We have sold over 20 kits this past month alone for either BMW and VW. So far all is good and install was very easy and no complaints or problems. Also some of the kits we have sold over this past summer are still working problem free.

However, even if there was any problem at which at this point there has been none that we are aware of from all the kits we have sold, XTEC comes with a Full Lifetime warranty.

Thanks,

Carmen

Because the average halogen bulb produces more light output.

Anything higher than 6000k is just for looks, and really doesn't illuminate much better than halogen. It's just too blue/purple/green/weird to provide good lighting.

I think that in most housings, around 5000k is a good balance between cool blue and good illumination. 4300k probably looks too stock for a lot of people here (I'd still do it, best lighting), 5000k is about right.

I know what ur trying to say.

But.

According to Sylvania a 9006 produces 1000 +/- 15% lumens.
n that should be above average output bcus its a silverstar.

Edit:

I found a better thread when randy was selling HIDs.

Here is what he quoted:

Lumens:
4300K -- 3200
6000K -- 2800
8000K -- 2600
55W 9006 Halogen -- 1100

More lumens yes, but in a horrible coloured tinge. Certain coloured objects wouldn't even appear anymore.
