Model year of E60's and cutoff dates?

Max colleagues:
What is the model year cutoff dates for e60's?
Specifically a 530i manufactured 05/05.
Ran the vin through realoem and it confirms 05/05 mfg date matching door panel. However MTO seller package lists car as 2006 model with inflated wholesale price. Making sure this isn't an error in the system or fraud or car seems to be an '05.

Wicki doesn't help as well...
Thx

N52 production started earlier than usual for the '06 model year. If it has an N52, the model year is correct. If it's an M54, then I'd try and argue it (or just go to a appraiser and have them write down a low number - it's what all the cool kids are doing).

Thanks for clarifying. Yes vin indicates N52 engine. The concern is the rdiculous wholesale price estimate used by MTO for tax purposes. How does this appraiser process work? Car is 250km away although it was seen last weekend.
thx

SOP for the MY2006 530i was 03/2005. MTO doesn't go by production dates, they use model year that is in the VIN. Check the VIN of the car you are looking at. 10th character in the VIN is model year.
