WTB: E46 M3 Convertible
Well, I never thought I'd be looking at convertible M3s but here I am!
I have only a few prerequisites: - Must be 6-speed manual
- Mileage must be under 200k
- No engine/transmission issues (seen too many "ticking" M3s with spun rods)
Browsing Kijiji and the Classifieds regularly, but show me what you've got!
I will also consider well priced coupes!

I thought I read on an other thread you hated convertable M3s. No luck finding a coupe..

I want a summer toy.
Off topic, let me know if you're still looking for a replacement S54 for your rolling chassis. I know a guy.
He can get you a great deal on full interior as well!

this imola one looks good, you can probably talk the guy down:

s54's with rod issues dont tick. ticking s54's are in need of valve adjustment.

WTB: E46 M3 Convertible
That one has been on sale for over 6 months. The guy doesn't seem to be willing to negotiate so it hasn't moved. And it's a US import.

for 15k if you want a clean convertible you're probably in going to end up with a US car. didn't see that one when i was shopping. did see a 01 imola coupe i'm still not sure how i feel about having passed up on. think it sold already, a guy named calvin was selling it.

Didn't get a good vibe on the Imola one, didn't answer questions, was slow to respond and wouldn't pick up the phone when called. That and it seems that I'm the only one that doesn't like red cars.
For the imola vert, it's amazing that he is not willing to negotiate with a "MUST SELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" in his ad.

I have no problem with owning a US car, so long as it has a clean title.
The "ticking" M3 that I saw last week was this one:
http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehi...AdIdZ500515241
I imagined it might need a clutch at that price, instead it's very evidently the bottom end which has gone. Had to be there in person for the sales-rep to tell me this..
Earlier this week, I visited this higher mileage example:
http://www.danisautogroup.com/used-i...941ba27f07382c
I know maintenance is everything on these cars, so it wasn't completely excluded from my list. The interior is near immaculate, the front bumper was resprayed, and it shows as a clean title. In addition, the valve adjustment was done, and VANOS was checked (no maintenance, only checked)
Problems: The top has a tear in the side (doesn't cause water to seep in), the dual-mass flywheel makes the infamous "death-rattle" when turning off the engine, and the engine has a varnish-like buildup which looks almost like sludge. Some claim that 10W60 TWS oil is known for causing this varnish, but I have my doubts. Thoughts?

i know calvin (i bought my set of ZCP wheels for the Z3M from him). he's works out of town (it consultant) so he's never around.
that car had BC coils, aftermarket front strut brace and an intake i think (edit: subframe re/re too). i had seen the car in person, it was pretty clean (although i didn't give it a close look over, as at that point i was just shopping for wheels). not bad for 13k
i think must sell should be synonymous with "lets make a deal". when i sell shit, i'm always open to negotiation (in person, with cash. not email/phone)
i bet you if i showed up with 15K for that red vert he'd sell it to me.
