Attn Navigator/Ford owners

I have just read a news article that Ford has released a warning for all Explorers, Expeditions, and Navigators made after 1998. When they are parked with the engine off, the engines are catching fire. There is somethign wrong with the electrical. If anyone wants the actual news article, I'll google it for them.

Just a warning, not an attack on Fords, so dont yell at me.

On July 11, 2001 I was sitting in my office when I received a call stating my car was on fire. My car was parked in a stall, turned off. My car was a 1997 Ford Escort. I watched the car burn to the ground as the Fire Fighters and Police came. The Fire Marshal wrote a report and said it was electrical. I wrote a letter to Ford which was answered with a "Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you etc." I spoke to a Ford dealer which told me that "fires happen".

To think that when you buy Expedition or Navigator a 80k truck you won't have to worry about it burning down on you with turned off engine and in park :\

Relax kids....

BMW's aren't immune to recalls.

BMW X5 if you all remember had a recall on the brakes.

Think when you spend 80G's on a Bimmer, you should have some assurance you can stop......
