problems with hid lights

i got a problem with my front passenger hid light. When i turn on my lights they work fine but maybe after 5 mins it starts flickering on and off and then it finally shuts off completely. But if i turn my head lights off and turn them back on again it tends to work fine for another 5 mins??? anyone know what could be the problem with my passenger side hid?

try switching the bulb from right to left, and see if the problem follows, if it does then its the bulbs, if it stays then might be problem with ballast.

Its most likely your ballast. If a bulb starts, 99% of the time it should/will stay on. Any eventual failure is generally caused by a defective or broken ballast
I run a canadian led kit & hid kit company, if you have any questions about led headlights or hid kits in canada or would like to check out our products please contact me here:

Yup, those are the symptoms of a dying ballast.

DPE Wheels, H&R Cupkit, M3 Interior...too many mods to list.

agreed. i was thinking the internal temp in the ballast was going high and then thermal protection kicks in, cools, and resets over again.

I actually had the exact same symptoms with one of my HID bulbs, and it was the bulb that needed replacing. As j0nblayz mentioned, switch the bulb from left to right and see if it happens to the other side again. If it does then u know its the bulb.
