I bought 2 different resisters off eBay for that. The light goes out, but it shows no passenger. I wonder if yours will work better.

resistor has to make airbag active all the time and turn the light off.

I never checked - I just bought some "fix" from eBay - two in fact. Whatever I got isn't right. If someone can provide that info, I'd like to correct mine. I still have two of these things, you're welcome to come try it if you wish. I was going to test it on my M5 but never got around to it.... I'm curious how it behaves on a different car - I guess i'll try it this weekend...on the M5.

Btw - I'll give you one - so you can use the connector - in exchange for info on the correct resistor value so I can fix the second one.

Hmmmm - I went to get one of the eBay ones.... definitely not wired the same. There is a diode and ONE resistor. Both wired in parallel. I'll get another resistor and fix the circuit.

Update - my FLEA Bay kits are crap. The resistor is 2000 ohm, not to mention it being wired in parallel. I changed the wiring to series and used two 100 ohm resistors as suggested in DJ Aquarius's link and it works perfect. I confirmed it says "Seat occupied".

Thanks for the tip!!!

Just in case you're not aware, though likely not directly related to your issue / post-- there is a recall for most E46 airbag units.
