318i: How fast are you going at 4K rpm?

My 95 318i seems kinda slow at 4,000rpm. My speedometer reads 140km at 4k but it doesn't look like I'm going that fast at all. I just had a long trip on the freeway going at that speed and the car following me said I was going about 125km. That's off by a pretty large margin.

318 is just a slow car in general.

I don't see a diff when a v12 going 130km/h and 4cyl going 130km/h, is there a faster 130km/h? So lets keep it real. I'm going in 5th gear of course. my dial is 10km off yet people still say their cars read faster than they're going so mine must be really behind.

I think I'm like 150-160 at 4K with a 318i M44 in 4th gear(auto )

In my buddies 320i the GPS speed and the speedo were off by 10. I think the speedo was higher though

I had just changed my tires and rims and I noticed that cars speedo was alittle faster. The car was showing 110 and the GPS 107-108

With my M42 Engine at 4k rpm I'm going 140km/h in 5th at 3500prm I'm doing 120km/h. That's the same reading as when I had my old 15" tires. According to numerous tire size websites my speedo is off by a bit. Doing 60mph is actually 59.4 mph with my new tires....not a big difference....
