Arrow Phuc's S54/6 E30.

Hey maXbimmer. You know Mike and I love little more than shoving S54B32 motors into lightweight older BMWs. Late 2013 we were approached by a new client from Ottawa who had heard of what we had built in the past (Mike's E36, Sia's E28, Steve's E36, Alvin's E36, etc.) and wanted to, sight-unseen and having never met, drop his E30 and money pile at the shop for what would be a year-long build. This is our kind of guy.

What arrived was a simple black E30 and a great client by the name of Phuc, traditionally a Subaru guy. Phuc picked up a pretty clean E30 325i with a decent set of mods (Miller MAF, H&R/Billys, TD wheels, typical stuff) and decided early-on that he wanted 6 throttle bodies under the hood. He also insisted on functioning A/C as well as daily driveability, as this is the role the E30 will serve (he already has a Subaru track toy). He initially figured he would need to ship the car cross-border to one of the big American race shops to accomplish this, but online research showed him that our little "factory" near Toronto is dumb enough to take on these types of jobs, and actually pulls them off pretty well. Match made in heaven.

So here's what we started with:

M20B25 5-speed. MAF conversion, too much anti-rust coating and a nice Sparco bar. Time to rip it all out.

Rip rip rip rip rip...

Daylight! Alright demolition is over let's go see the E46 M3 that's giving up it's heart.

Bimmer Heaven in Milton to see Filip and this Imola/Imola 6-speed manual M3 Cabrio. I got a pretty sweet drift going the width of his barn in this thing (don't tell Fil). You know, testing. Strong motor and the transmission is smooth, and with under 100k kms we know we're in good shape. Say goodbye to your driveline, gorgeous.

Motor/trans arriving at our shop.

Fil's handwriting and labels, you'll find these on parts everywhere in the GTA. Compression looks solid.

Then Mike waved his hands in the air a few times and POOF the driveline was installed.

That's enough at our place, time to send it to our top-secret exhaust guy out in the sticks. No trailers here, pay up and do it right.

And we're back. Supersprint rep headers to 3.5" full system. Dual Vibrant resonators and Vibrant muffler to try to keep it daily civil, as was the client's desire. New 3.73 limited-slip differential also in view.

V-Bands, SS piping, TIG welds, pie-cut custom collectors to clear everything up front...it's art. Unfortunately the guy who built this for us (and Sia's E28 system) has left the industry and therefore I can't refer you. Tragedy.

Finishing touches, final stretch.

All done! So fresh, so clean.

K&N 63 intake, headers, 3.5" exhaust and custom tune mean this thing should be making GREAT power. Hopefully it'll get dyno'd this season.

Ready to drive back to Ottawa. Total sleeper status.

At something under 3000lbs and something around 300rwhp, this car is a rocket. We will have the car back in our hands this year for more upgrades, first priority being to make the car stop and turn as well as it can now go. I'll update this thread as it goes along.

This is all kinds of awesome... if I had the geld, I'd love to get the S54 in my E30. Great work!
