228i sportline winter tires

Hi guys,

I just bought a 2014 228i that I will be picking up this Saturday. It comes with 225/40r18 Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Seasonal - 78.8" circumference or 804 rev/mile according to tiresize.com Rim is BMW Style 384 - 8" wide with a 52mm offset.

I am wondering if I can reuse my winter tires from my 2003 325i ... 205/55r16 Bridgestone Blizzak LM32 - 78.1" circumference with or 811 rev/mile.

Tirerack.com indicated that I can put a 16" rims on the 228i.

I don't know the offset of the steel rims, but the 325i's summer rims are style 45 - 7" with a 47mm offset.

I not worried about the difference in circumference. I don't think it is large enough to cause any issues. My main question is: has anyone done this? Will the 16" rim fir over the caliper?
