Question 2003 x5 4.4i Wiring Diagrams and OB Scanner

I am new here and would really appreciate some information on my brothers 2003 X5 4.4i presently the battery drains down when left to sit more than a few days.

I am technically inclined and but need wiring diagrams to proceed a bit quicker, please guide me to sourcing the wiring diagrams for this vehicle or a reliable known source for the shop repair manual.

While I am in this mode and for future troubleshooting what are your suggestions in buying a reliable OB Scanner.

Thank you,

Craig

LOWvert, thank you for this excellent resource I appreciate this very much. Using this guide and my new Bently Service Manual, Autel Elite MD802 I plan on tackling many of the issues people experience with the X5 and keeping this vehicle operating smoothly and affordable for years to come.
Kind Regards,
Craig
