e60 2007 525xi 4x4 light on - not actuator motor

Good day all,
New on to the forum but have been reading for years.

Before I posted this I searched the forum for hours - yes the repair for the servo actuator motor and all ! I did that already and still having issues - please keep reading.

Ok im going to start from the beginning so I can get the help I need.
I purchased this car with around 200k on it. Looks and drives amazing.

The only downfall was

1. the sunroof seal had a major leaking issue. changed the seal no more water.
There was alot of water in the back seat floor area and I was able to vacuum professionally and remove any mold from the foam. Good I got this issue resolved

2. the 4x4 light is on.

I purchased a rebuild (tested transfer case actuator motor) and installed. NOTHING LIGHT STILL ON!

I looked at the fuse box for any blown transmission fuses and all seam intact.

I live in the country and need the all wheel drive for the winter.
I'm out of ideas - I don't think its the transfer case it self as the car drives like a dream. Its currently obviously in rwd mode because I don't even think the actuator motor is getting a power signal to even turn.

The only thing I can think of is maybe when the car was flooded in the back, the transfer case module got fried (i think the module is located under the passenger seat) and I would need to purcahse another one ( 100$ ebay). Is the transfer case module under the seat?

I purchased the actuator motor for 400$ Installed it and it didn't even solve the problem. Now im discouraged.

Im a very manual guy and love working on cars- i have a lift and all the tools. What im I missing here - winter is coming and Im seeking help from the pros (all of you). I dont want to order a module and it ends up not being the issue.
Any information would help!!!

First thing is to scan the car and see what codes you are getting, that should give you a better idea. My guess is that the Tcase module got wet and corroded, seen it many many times. I think the E60 is under passenger sear. We have several good ones in stock.
